Since 1957, ERC has been building single family and multi-family residential properties in the South and Midwest. For three generations, our apartment communities and downtown developments have created homes for families, for students, and for city dwellers. Our commitment to excellence shows in every home we build because we live that commitment every day.

FIRST GENERATION

ERNEST COLEMAN

In 1955, 19-year-old Ernest R. “Buddy” Coleman sold his first home for $4,000, and so his career in development was born. Two years later, Coleman founded ERC with the hope of bringing the American Dream of homeownership to all folks everywhere. Buddy Coleman laid the foundation for what ERC is today; a company set not on building developments; but creating homes.

SECOND GENERATION

ROD COLEMAN

On March 15, 1985, Rod was promoted to President of ERC Properties, Inc., with Buddy as Chairman of the Board. Over the past 30 years at ERC, Rod has truly done it all; served as VP; led as President and CEO; and now stands as Chairman of ERC Companies. But his leadership extends farther than the office. Rod supports his community through a variety of positions and was even named Young Man of America in 1987. Today as Chairman, Rod continues to oversee and touch the business daily.

THIRD GENERATION

ROB COLEMAN

Rob is our current CEO and President. He boldly leads the business in commitment to corporate culture, performance and vision. ERC’s existing- and expanding- portfolio can be accredited to this guy. He’s responsible for development across St. Louis and Oklahoma, as well as ERC's new brand, Thrive. Rob has sat on various boards and was named one of 2013’s 40 Under Forty by NWA Business Journal.
